How we write, who reviews, what we cite.
Last reviewed 2026-05-13 · Owner of this policy: Andre Thomas, founder, THE F.I.T.T. PIT.
Who writes the articles
Every article on this site is drafted by Andre Thomas (NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Precision Nutrition Level 2, TRX Qualified Trainer, CPR/AED) — the founder and head coach of THE F.I.T.T. PIT, a coached gym for adults 40+ in Hyde Park, Boston, in operation since 2012. Where a guest coach contributes (e.g. Selene Williams, CSCS), the byline names them explicitly.
What we publish — and what we don’t
We publish coaching guidance and nutrition education aimed at adults 40+. We do not publish medical advice. Articles that touch on hormones, supplements, body composition, or any health-adjacent topic are educational only and explicitly state that they are not a substitute for personalized advice from a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified clinician.
If you are pregnant, on medications, managing a chronic condition, or recovering from injury or surgery, talk to your physician before changing your training, supplements, or diet — including based on anything you read on this site.
How we cite
Health-adjacent claims are linked to a primary source: a PubMed/PMC abstract, an NIH page, a Mayo Clinic / Cleveland Clinic article, or a peer-reviewed journal. Where a primary source isn’t available, we say so in plain language (“clinical experience,” “anecdotal,” “industry consensus”) rather than implying certainty we don’t have.
Review cadence
Every article carries a publish date and an updated-on date. Health-adjacent posts are reviewed at least once every 12 months and updated when the evidence base changes materially. If you spot a claim that looks out of date or wrong, email info@thefittpit.com and we’ll review the post within seven days.
Where a credentialed clinical reviewer (RD or MD) has signed off on a piece, the post lists “Reviewed by [Name], [Credential], [date]” beneath the byline. Posts without that line have not been clinically reviewed and should be treated accordingly.
Conflict-of-interest disclosure
THE F.I.T.T. PIT is a paid-membership gym and sells coaching, the 6-Week Transformation Challenge, and Friday Night Lights event entries. Articles that recommend our own programs say so directly.
We do not currently have affiliate or commission relationships with any supplement brand. When an article mentions a supplement category (creatine, vitamin D, fish oil, protein, etc.), we name the category and the rationale — not a brand we earn from. If that ever changes, we’ll disclose it on the article in question.
Corrections
When we change a load-bearing claim in a post, we update the body of the article and add a dated note at the bottom describing what changed and why. We do not silently rewrite history.
